This technology studio examined the part to whole relationship of materiality in relation to form. The project began with a pile of baguettes in an acrylic cube. The first step was an exercise in 3D modeling, taking photos of the pile with the cube for reference and generating a digital model in Rhino 3D. From this base, a series of physical models was created to examine how the material framing a void impacts the design expression and fabrication requirements.
